BA IN FINE ART AND MINOR IN ART HISTORY
Visual art to the artist (like music to the musician) is our means of expressing creatively the way we see and feel about the world around us.
I believe art is a gift inspired by God. Everything we see is made up of basic to complex elements of design such as squares, rectangles, spheres, cubes, etc. The awesome beauty of "His" creation is all around us in nature but our eyes must be trained to see shapes, patterns, negative space, composition, color relationships, light, shadow, aerial perspective, etc.
I graduated college with a BA in Art and Minor in Art History. My background is in Fine Art, Illustration, Design, and Printmaking. Through the years I have studied privately, been involved with critiques, shows, workshops, art guilds, etc. I work in most mediums: oil (my favorite), watercolor, pastel, gouache, mixed media, etching, digital photography, and computer based art.
My husband and I have a small cottage on the Oregon Coast where whales and sea lions migrate near our cliffs. The majestic beauty of the
Pacific Northwest is a never-ending source of inspiration. While I sell privately and my work hangs in private collections; I feel a need to
share my art with a broader audience.
